eLearning (2002-2004)
is the Communitary Programme for the use of new multimedia technologies and the Internet to improve the quality of learning by facilitating access to resources and services as well as remote exchanges and collaboration.
The eLearning initiative helps to coordinate community actions concerned with eLearning mobilising the educational and cultural communities, as well as the economic and social players in Europe.
The eLearning Action Plan has four action lines:
- Infrastructures and equipments;
- training at all levels;
- quality contents and services;
- cooperation and dialogue.
Whitin the European research, the program has acquired an explicit importance, it is present in the VI Framework Programme as one of the strategic themes and it is foreseen the creation of European Networks of Excellence to promote the exchange between researchers interested on it.
