2005
The 2005 Call for Proposals has been opened until October 15th, 2004 for annual projects (Action 1) and till October 29th, 2004 for multiannual projects (Action 2). In 2005, 209 annual projects have been selected to a total of around 18.5 million euro, as well as 24 multi-annual cooperation projects (focusing on the visual arts, performing arts, cultural heritage, books and reading) to a total of around 13.5 million euro. Of the 233 projects that have been proposed for selection in 2004, 113 concern cultural heritage, the priority this year.

2004
The 2005 Call for Proposals has been opened until October 30th, 2003 for annual projects (Action 1) and till November 14th, 2004 for multiannual projects (Action 2). In 2004 the Commision has received 525 dossiers for Action 1 and 157 for Action 2. The selection procedure has started, it will be the most objective as possible concerning the good financin management rules.

2003
In September 2003 the European Commission issued a special call for proposals to the countries taking part in the Culture 2000 Framework Programme. This call, under Action III of the Programme, was on the theme of a cultural celebration of the next enlargement of the European Union to take place in 2004. , aiming to highlight the cultural dimension of the European Union enlargement, have been selected under this call.[page top]
2002
In 2002 the European Community has financed around 224 projects, on 430 candidatures, for a total of 33 million Euro. The approved projects, that have involved 28 different countries (included Yugoslavia and Ciprus), have concerned the sectors of Visual Arts and also the cultural heritage, (Books, Reading, and the literary translation).
Good results for Italy! 40 projects approved in Action 1 and 4 (Cooperation agreeements).
In the year 2002 "Culture 2000" has contributed to the creation of European Prize for Cultural Heritage and has sustained the Culture European Cities selected for years 2002 and 2003.

2001
In 2001 the European Community has financed around 200 projects, on 500 introduced, for a total of 30 million Euro. The approved projects, that have involved 27 different countries, have concerned the sectors of the cultural heritage, of the mutual knowledge of the history and the literary and artistic creation (included the literary translation).
In the year 2001 "Culture 2000" has contributed to the creation of networks of cultural operators and has sustained the Culture European Cities selected for years 2001 and 2002.
The 163 projects of annual cooperation have received a financing of around 14.5 million Euro, while the 23 projects of many years cooperation has been financed for a total of 15 million Euro.

2000
The proclamation concerning the year 2000 has brought to the subvention of 219 projects (on 1023 proposed candidacies) for a financing of over 32 million Euro.
The financing has concerned:
- 197 projects relative to the "specific, innovative and/or experimental actions" (over 16,5 million Euro);
- 19 projects relative to the "integrated actions inside of cooperation agreements structured and pluriennial" (around 14 million Euro);
2 projects relative to "European Laboratories of the patrimony".

1999
In the year 1999 the European Commission, waiting for the decision of the European Parliament and the Council to institute the Culture 2000 programme, has given life to the "experimental actions". The call, published on EC Official Journal s. L, n. 163 of 10.6.1999, have brought to the selection of 55 projects (on 410 introduced) that have received a financing of around 6 million Euro.
