Observatory for International Libraries and Archives Programmes.
It is the connection between the European Commission and the Italian institutions (archives, libraries, museums, universities, and publishing houses, ...) with the aim to favourite participation to the initiatives.
The Observatory for International Libraries and Archives Programmes (OPIB), after the reorganization of the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities – DM 2-08-2004, acts within the Department for Archive and Library Heritage.
The Observatory realizes its activities through:
- The collection and diffusion of information on International programmes and projects for archives, libraries, and cultural services through the web site;
- The promotion of initiatives to favourite participation of Italian archives and libraries to International programmes and projects;
- The assistance for the predisposition of the projects both for technical and partner search aspects;
- The support to the national projects coordination connected to International initiatives;
- The publishing and update of information connected to the communitary actions on the most important Italian magazines;
- The sending of documentation and information notes;
- The spreading of information through communication within congress and seminars.
