  • Commission calls for an all-inclusive digital society
    On 29th November 2007, the Commission presents its e-Inclusion initiative to Council, calling on Member States to support a number of key actions, including an awareness campaign for 2008 "e-Inclusion, be part of it!" e-Accessibility legislation, similar to that of the USA, is also under consideration.
  • The European project eTen supports Navigabile
    NavigAbile is an internet-based system aimed to provide an innovative way to access web content to children and youths affected by motor and communicational disabilities. It offers a bundle of services designed, on one side, to enhance web interface and contents accessibility and, on the other, to supply communication and relation tools.
  • EIAO (European Internet Accessibility Observatory)
    The European Internet Accessibility Observatory is a European project funded by the EU-Commission under the 6th Framework Programme's strategic objective e-inclusion.
    The EIAO project will establish the technical basis for a European Internet Accessibility Observatory. Frequently updated assessment data will be available online from a data warehouse providing a basis for benchmarking, policymaking, research and actions to develop accessibility to Internet.
  • Published by the European Commission a Communication on the eAccessibility
    On September 13th, 2005 the European Commission published a Communication in which it proposes a set of policy actions that foster eAccessibility. It calls on Member States and stakeholders to support voluntary positive actions to make accessible ICT products and services far more widely available in Europe.
  • Stakeholders' survey for the design of a web accessibility observatory
    A tool for monitoring Web Accessibility is being designed in the FP6 project "European Internet Accessibility Observatory" (EIAO), in order to provide indicators and possibly lists of accessible web sites, to enable policy makers to assess improvements and to encourage good web development.
  • Public on-line consultation on a proposed COMMISSION COMMUNICATION on eAccessibility
    This anonymous consultation will provide the European Commission with inputs for the drafting of a Commission Communication on eAccessibility; it is particularly targeted at: users (of eAccessibility-enhanced products or services) and their associations, relevant industrial/business actors and associations, Government and Regional agencies, Public Authorities, and eAccessibility experts and professionals.
