  • Europe's Semantic Interoperability Centre
    SEMIC.EU is a new initiative by the European Commission to support the data exchange of pan-European eGovernment projects. It features a repository for semantic interoperability assets that are open for reuse in other projects, e.g. XML schema or multi-lingual taxonomies.

  • The eParticipation: new call for Proposals
    eParticipation is a Preparatory Action which aims at harnessing the benefits of the use of Information and Communications Technologies for better legislative processes and better legislation at all levels of governmental decision making, and for an enhanced public participation in such processes. The Work programme 2006 of the Preparatory Action has been adopted by the European Commission on 27 July 2006. The call for proposals has been launched on 28 July 2006 with the deadline of 4 October 2006.
  • Readiness for eGovernment will bring big savings to EU, says Commission
    Published on 25 April 2006, the action plan, entitled ‘i2010 eGovernment Action Plan: Accelerating eGovernment in Europe for the Benefit of All’, draws on the Ministerial Declaration adopted at the Manchester eGovernment Ministerial Conference in November 2005, which set clear expectations for widespread, measurable benefits from eGovernment in 2010.
  • SMAU 2006
    Wishing to better respond to the needs of companies operating in the ICT sector, Smau 2006 will be totally reserved to professional visitors.
    An innovative formula that will be even more effective in the new location: starting from 2006, Smau will be held in the Rho-Pero Exhibition Center, an avant-guard center providing an ideal solution to the most demanding requirements of exhibitors and visitors.
    Hosted in the Halls located near the entrance close to the underground station, Smau 2006 will be a tailor-made event for supply and demand to meet.

  • e-Government: second phase now with 209.5 mln.
    The second phase of the e-government process is ready, and will be allocated 209.5 million euro. Besides, for the first time, Government, Regions, Provinces, Municipalities and Mountain Communities all agree on the project. That's what the minister for technology and innovation, Lucio Stanca, said today. "The greatest Italian 'service company', that is the state, decided to undergo a total restructuring, transferring competences. This will lead to great benefits as regards efficiency and economy, and will coincide with a radical innovation in processes, services and management" said Stanca.
