    Call for proposals under the ‘Capacities’ work programme of the 7th EC Framework Programme for Research, Technological Development and Demonstration Activities. Deadline: 11 September 2008.

    A Call for proposals under the ‘Capacities’ work programme of the 7th EC Framework Programme for Research, Technological Development and Demonstration Activities was published on April 21st, 2008. Deadline: July 24th, 2008.
  • ICT Call 3 now open
    The Information and Communication Technologies theme of the Cooperation Programme announced its Third call for proposals on 4 December 2007. The ICT theme was launched focusing on seven strategic Challenges for the seven years of this Framework programme. Deadline: 08/04/2008.
  • First calls results available
    A total of 148 proposals were submitted to the ICT Call 1, objective 'Intelligent Content and Semantics', is available the list of 15 top-ranked proposals.
  • Next ‘Call for proposals’ foreseen for December 2007.
    The next ‘Call for proposals’ should be published in December 2007, foreseen deadline: March 2008. Full details on the scope of each call, the funding strategy and on budget allocation are outlined in the ICT Work Programme 2007-2008.
  • 7th EC Framework Programme - Confirmation of Work Programmes and Calls for Proposals
    These provisional work programmes have now been confirmed and have been adopted by the Commission with some adjustments (Decisions C(2007)560, C(2007)561, C(2007)562, C(2007)563, C(2007)564 of 26 February 2007).
    The newly adopted work programmes and call fiches are available from the CORDIS website at http://cordis. europa.eu/fp7/calls. Any adjustments to the work programmes and the call fiches, with respect to the provisional work programmes, are clearly shown in the texts and are also summarised on CORDIS.
  • First FP7 calls published
    The EU's largest ever funding programme for research, the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) has got underway with the publication of 42 calls for proposals. Researchers received a Christmas present of almost €4.3 billion on 22 December. The total budget for FP7 is €50.521 billion, with an additional €2.7 billion available through Euratom.
    Calls have been published under the Euratom Specific Programme, as well as each of the four specific programmes of FP7: Cooperation; Ideas; People and Capacities.
  • Green light for seventh framework research programme for 2007-2013
    The European Parliament gave the go-ahead for the EU's research and development funding for the period 2007-2013, when MEPs adopted 10 reports relating to the 7th Framework Research Programme (FP7). This programme, the EU's main instrument for funding scientific research, will have a budget of more than €54 billion over its seven-year life.
  • IST 2006: Website Launched, Calls for Proposal Open
    This year's edition of the most important European event in the field of Information Society Technologies will take place in Helsinki on 21-23 November 2006, coinciding with the launch of the EU's Seventh Framework R&D Programme. Day One of the conference programme will feature high-level policy discussions on how governments can help ICTs contribute to an innovative Europe , with Days Two and Three devoted to the Seventh Framework Programme and other topics surrounding European research and innovation.
  • New schemes for the 7th Framework Programme
    The European Commission proposes to the European Parliament the news of the VII Framework programme's specif programmes.
    The four milestones of the new Framework Programme for the period 2007-2013 are: Cooperation, Ideas, Persons and Skills. More importance to the new thematic priorities inside the Cooperation milestone will be give to cooperation-areas, "Human and social-economic sciences", and "safety and space".
  • Parliament committee endorses research budget increase
    The European Parliament committee responsible for the EU budget has presented its report on the EU's financial perspectives for 2007 to 2013, endorsing the Commission's position on doubling the Union's research budget.
  • CORDIS FP7 service to keep you abreast of research debate
    CORDIS, the European Community's Research and Development Information Service, has developed a new service to follow discussions on the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7).
    The debate on FP7 started in September 2003 when the Competitiveness Council invited the Commission and Member States to make more effective use of financing instruments, including the EU's Structural Funds, for research and development (R&D).
